Today, a January sunday afternoon, I made this walk in and around the red light areas in Amsterdam (“Wallen gebied”), This area is normally crowded with drunk and shouting tourists in search of all kinds of pleasure. The area however forms the oldest part of town and it has beautiful canals, architecture and unknown alleys (even to me). Famous Rembrandt used to live close by. And the area itself was subject to many different artists.
Today I took the time to make new discoveries, Please check out below impressions and see for yourself the stunning beauty of this old part of Amsterdam (this time without the tourists).
